2009 Monticello Vineyards Estate Grown Syrah
This is a bold, unapologetic wine. After 30 minutes in the glass or decanter, the aromas burst open with deep, dark spicy berries with caramel and toasty tones. On the palate the wine has a huge attack followed by a flood of lush texture. The mid-palate is thick, with a wonderful balance of dark ripe fruit, chewy tannins, a light streak of acidity, and a finish underlined with sweet vanillin oak.
