  • Aromatically a medley of blueberry, blackberry, floral and sweet oak tones. Berry aromatics are followed by dark fruit flavors. The wine is rich and the finish is sweet, lingering and smoky.

    Production Notes
Cabernet Franc Home Ranch Vineyard, Block 4,Clone ‘X’ Oak Knoll District, Napa Valley (52%) Merlot Knollwood Vineyard, Southeast Block, Clone 181 Oak Knoll District, Napa Valley (24%) Cabernet Sauvignon State Lane Vineyard, Clone 337 Yountville, Napa Valley (18%) Syrah Knollwood Vineyard, Northeast Block, ENTAV Clones Oak Knoll District, Napa Valley (6%) Although the picking dates were all very close, these lots were all harvested and fermented separately. In general, we know at harvest time which lots have the potential to be blended into our Corley Proprietary Red Wine, and we direct the winemaking for these lots appropriately. The fruit is hand-picked and meticulously hand-sorted before going to the fermentation vessel. The Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot were tank-fermented, the Cabernet Franc and Syrah were bin fermented. This contrast of varietals and varied fermentation techniques lends this wine a unique textural balance and flavor profile. Oak – 100% New French Oak, Tight Grained, Medium Plus Toast.
    Winemaker Notes
This is a bold wine with nice balance. The aromas are very intriguing. I find mixed dark berry fruits, a little smokiness, and a light peaty aroma. The dark fruit nose frames pleasantly with hints of creamy chocolate. This is a component that we have found in some of our past Corley Proprietary Red Wines having a little age behind them. I find it appealing to have this element displaying itself early on with this vintage. The wine has a bold attack on the palate. It is full bodied with medium-grip tannins and an expansive mid-palate. The finish is full and lingering and in its youth will display some of the aforementioned tannins, which will naturally soften with time.
