Corley & Corley Reserve
2009 Corley Proprietary Red Wine
Print: Tasting NotesThis wine has wonderful aromas of dark berries, toasty oak, mocha and dark chocolate. On the palate, the wine is seamless. The midpalate is exploding with dark fruit and a rich texture, framed by big yet gentle tannins. The finish is warm, lingering, inviting.
Drink now through 2024.

The CORLEY Proprietary Red Wine blend is the most flexible wine we make with regards to blending different varietals, so is always one of my favorite wines to work with at the blending table. In 2009, we pushed the fruit as far towards ripeness as we could without sacrificing the balance of acidity. The fruit was hand-sorted on the crush pad and the individual varietals were fermented separately in stainless steel tanks. The primary blend was put together 12 months into the aging process, and subsequent complements to the blend were done at 18 and 24 months. In all the wine was aged for 28 months in barrel prior to bottling in early 2012.
