Wine Profile & Ratings
Tasting Notes
This wine is offering wonderful aromas of dark blackberry, cassis, hints of vanilla, and undertones of sweet caramel from the barrels. On the palate, the wine is bold upon entry, with characteristically robust tannins on the edges of the palate. The mid-palate is full, providing depth and a strong foundation. The finish is long and lingering, and with a slight grip, as is typical for this vineyard.

Grippy and tight, with a hefty dose of charcoal-tinged toast framing the core of steeped black currant and fig fruit flavors. Offers lots of tar and bramble accents through the finish, while the fruit and toast keep pace with each other. Muscular wine. Best from 2021 through 2032.—J.M.

Vineyard Notes
Our State Lane Vineyard produces fruit that is deep, dark, and bold. Located in the Yountville AVA, the cooler climate allows for a longer growing season which contributes to the Cabernet grapes slow, even ripening.
Production Notes
At the time of this writing, the 2016 vintage represents the fourth year in a phenomenal run of vintages from 2012-2018 for our vineyards and across Napa Valley. The fruit displayed great purity and intensity, which translated quite well through to the finished wines.
This single vineyard wine was vinified from certified organic grapes from our State Lane Vineyard in Yountville.
