This Cabernet Sauvignon from the Tietjen Vineyard in Rutherford offers fantastic aromas of rich, ripe, red berry fruit with undertones of sweet vanillin oak and hints of caramel. On the palate, the wine is massive, with a wonderful core of fruit on the full mid-palate. The balance of the wine from front to back is impeccable. The finish is long and carries the fruit beautifully.
Aromatics of juicy red fruits, toasty sweet oak and hints of vanilla. Flavors as expected follow similarly mostly noted is rich berry pie as the wine opens up – it’s our ‘everlasting gobstopper’ for the vintage. This wine once again shows nice consistency and balance throughout the entire experience – from the aromatics through to the finish. The mouth-feel is rich in texture and the finish sails on framed by firm but velvety tannins, one of the hallmarks from this long, cool vintage. This wine is drinking very well now, and should continue to develop and be enjoyed in the decade to come. – Chris Corley, Winemaker
This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon comes from our vineyard on State Lane in Yountville. This site is planted with Clone #337 which yields tiny berries of intensely concentrated fruit and firm tannins. We’ve enjoyed using this wine over the years as both a foundation for blending and a vineyard designate offering. This is a big chewy wine, not for the faint of palate. A very dark, brooding wine with hints of Indian spices on the nose accented with creamy vanillin oak and mocha tones. The mouth-feel is rich and chewy with lots of spicy berry flavors, deep dark berry fruit and milk chocolate, coffee and cocoa flavors on the finish. This wine should be decanted for an hour prior to maximum pleasure. – Chris Corley, Winemaker
The 2009 Corley Yewell Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon exuberant bright red and purple berry fruit along with rich tones of dark shaved chocolate. The oak is well integrated in the nose and reveals a very nice mocha and coffee aroma in the wine. There is a hint of eucalyptus aroma in the background that is very appealing as well. On the palate, this wine is rich in texture with well-defined tannins that frame the wine beautifully and will allow this wine to age gracefully. – Chris Corley, Winemaker
Depth-Defying Richness. This wine is offering fantastic primary aromas of rich, ripe red-berry fruit. I find undertones of sweet blond oak and light caramel. On the palate the wine is lush, with a deep core of ripe fruit on the mid-palate. From front to finish, this wine is wonderfully balanced with richness in depth of body and also in character of tannins.
